CAA Fly Out to the USS Hornet By JB Bieganski
July 15, 2025

Just returned from a fantastic fly-out to Alameda, California with fellow members of the Columbia Aviation Association. This trip took us over the Bay Area, where we explored the historic USS Hornet and connected with a great group of aviators.

These experiences remind me why I’m passionate about aviation—not just the flying, but the community, the shared knowledge, and the opportunities to see the world from a new perspective.   I filmed and edited a short recap of the trip.

Grateful to be part of a club that values both camaraderie and adventure. Looking forward to the next one!

Join Columbia Aviation Association members Eric, JB, Mark, and Angela as they take to the skies, flying to and from the Flying Weather event at KSPB in Scappoose, Oregon! 🌤️✈️

Experience the journey as we navigate beautiful landscapes, share camaraderie, and attend an engaging weather forecasting session hosted by the Columbia Cascade 99s. From pre-flight prep to the return trip, this video captures the spirit of aviation and the joy of flying with fellow enthusiasts.

Flight Simulator Videos

Some pretty cool Flight Simulator videos shared by Zane Gard.   He loves finding bridges to fly under and over.   If the Flight Simulator software allows.   If the software doesn't allow, when he flys under the bridge he crashes, hitting an invisible brick wall.   There is no evidence of these crashes, however, so no HAFAS prop awards can be made.
